Plum Trees
Prunus domestica are deciduous fruit-bearing trees known for their delicious and juicy plums.
Varieties: There are numerous plum varieties, each with unique characteristics. Some popular plum cultivars include Santa Rosa, Prunus, Flavour King, Italian Prune, Damson, and Satsuma, among others.
Fruit: Plum trees produce plum fruits, which can vary in size, shape, and colour depending on the variety. Plums have a sweet and tart flavour, and they can be used in a variety of culinary applications.
Light: Full sun exposure for optimal growth and fruit production.
Watering: Water frequently and deeply for the first year, or until the tree is established. Provide about an inch of water each week from rain or irrigation. Use enough water to reach the tree’s root line and beyond.
Height: Without pruning they can reach 12 meters tall and 10 meters in spread.
Temperature: Plum trees thrive in temperate climates and require well-drained soil.
